3 DIY Anti-Inflammatory Face Masks

Waking up to a glowing, blemish-free, and flawless face is the dream of many people. With the rise in the variety of beauty products today, everyone wants to splurge on buying skin care products to take care of their skin.

Skincare is not just limited to chemical products. These days, many companies are switching to natural ingredients due to their countless benefits and decreased risks for the skin. These natural ingredients are readily available at minimal costs. You don't need to go to the spa to get a facial as you can make your DIY anti-inflammatory face masks to give your face the ultimate treatment.

Why do People Need Anti-inflammatory Face Masks?

DIY face masks complement the skincare routine by providing ease. You can easily go about doing chores or taking a relaxing bath while wearing a DIY face mask. Face masks don't need to be used repeatedly to get results, unlike other skincare products. They provide instant results within minutes, leaving your skin looking smooth, fresh, hydrated, and healthy.

Anti-Inflammatory face masks prove to be a holy-grail solution for most skin issues. For people suffering from acne, psoriasis, or eczema, anti-inflammatory face masks actively heal the skin. Face masks cleanse out the skin by absorbing impurities and excess oil, leaving your skin nourished.

Other than that, face masks also help in lightening pigmentation, removing wrinkles, and preventing dry skin. Revamp your skincare routine with natural ingredients that have numerous benefits that make your skin glow fresh and healthy.

The natural ingredients are not just limited to homemade remedies or beauty DIYs. They can be incorporated into your skincare routine, guaranteeing results that will make you get instantly hooked.

Some of the anti-inflammatory ingredients are:

1. Turmeric

The most widely used DIY face mask ingredient is turmeric, and it has been in use for hundreds of years. Apart from being used in food, turmeric has also been used as a beauty ingredient due to its countless benefits. The main ingredient in turmeric is curcumin which has anti-inflammatory and antioxidizing properties.

Some of the benefits of turmeric are:

Prevents Hyperpigmentation:

The anti-oxidants in turmeric help in stabilizing the free radicals and preventing them from destroying the healthy cells, which cause hyperpigmentation.

Acne Removal: The anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric act upon acne and clear the skin off breakouts.

Toning: Turmeric is widely used to give luster to the face. It helps in moisturizing the face and providing a natural glow to the face.

Treats Scabies: Turmeric, when combined with Neem (a plant found in India), helps in healing the skin and mitigating scabies infection.

2. Strawberry

Strawberry is another miraculous berry that is used in the beauty industry due to its skincare properties. Strawberries contain alpha hydroxylic acid that helps in exfoliating the skin and removing excess dead cells. They also comprise vitamin C, salicylic acid, ellagic acid and have various anti-inflammatory properties, and anti-oxidants.

Some of the benefits of strawberries are:

Preventing Breakouts:

The salicylic acid in strawberries helps with acne and prevents the breakouts.

Reversing Aging:

The ellagic acid in strawberries helps in preventing collagen destruction and the onset of wrinkle formation.

Oil Control:

Vitamin C helps in controlling oil levels by removing sebum and providing nourishment to the skin.

Protection from UV Rays:

The ellagic acid present in strawberries helps in deflecting ultraviolet rays of the sun and protects the skin from sunburn and redness.

3. Tomato

Tomatoes are not only a vital fruit in salads; they also prove to be beneficial in skincare routines. Tomatoes contain compounds such as lycopene, lutein, and vitamins E and C that aid in skincare.

Some of the benefits of tomatoes are:

Healing Sunburn: The lycopene in tomatoes helps in healing sunburns as it has a photo-protective effect.

Brightens Complexion:

The vitamins in tomatoes are excellent for brightening up the skin, fading out the scars, and balancing the tone of the skin.

Shrinks Pores:

People having larger pores tend to get more breakouts than ones having normal-sized pores. Since large pores accumulate more dust, dirt, and bacteria, they often give rise to acne and pimples. Tomato works wonders by tightening the pores and smoothing the skin.

Soothes Irritation:

Using the wrong makeup products or expired creams can cause irritation and rash on the face. Tomato aids in relieving inflammation due to its anti-inflammatory properties and soothes the rashes.
