Sustainable Skincare: Face Scrubs
Today, we are going to talk about Sustainable Skin Care: Face Scrubs. If you are a regular reader of Glow & Green, then you know we preach "Sustainability" almost every day. While our purpose here is not just to teach, I would like us all to implement it in our day to day lives. For that reason, our skincare section consists of the best eco-friendly products & recipes, which include "Blend-It-By yourself," aka BIB recipes. Today, I would like to share three easy but gentle, sustainable skincare recipes for the face. These recipes will remove dead cells, provide a brightening effect, and unclog your skin’s pores. You can easily buy all the ingredients in the grocery store or on Amazon. Also, all three recipes are so easy because you can change the ingredients to make it another face scrub. At the store, these face scrubs are sold for more than $20, and the quality you get is not satisfactory. So let's get started with Sustainable Skin Care: Face Scrubs: Recipe: Green Tea Face Scrub Things you need: 1/4 cup Kukui Nut Oil (buy it from here) 1/2 cup Coconut Oil 1 1/2 cup Rapadura Sugar 8 tbsp. Green Tea Matcha Powder 10 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil Method: Mix sugar and matcha powder together really well. Put it aside. Now in another bowl, mix coconut oil and kukui nut oil. Gradually start pouring this green team mixture into the oils. Mix it well, and that's it! Shelf Life: 2-3 months! Once the orange skins are dehydrated, grind them in a grinder. Mix sun-dried orange peel powder into sugar. In another bowl, add kukui nut oil and coconut oil. Now gradually stir the orange peel mixture into the oils. Voila! Your face scrub is ready!! Shelf Life: 2-3 months!
