First of all, I am MIA lately because a lot going on in the backend of Glow & Green. We are launching Green-Beauty Co a product line exclusively made out of unwanted food waste. I will have a detailed blogpost on that…. But after a month-long break from blogging, I want to kick start my blogging journey again with some DIY project. And how about start with my fall favorite Body Butter. Fall is a season often identified with cold air and long walks. However, it does not take long for the same air to cut through your skin resulting in dry and flaky patches. Often times the modern day packaged moisturizers fail to provide any help in that case. Hence, this is where a good whipped body butter comes jumps in. The whole process of making the whipped body butter and then using it gives a cozy vibe to fall season and amplifies the joy of making something from scratch. While a consumer has a plethora of choices to choose from in the market, whipped home-made body butter will always be unmatchable. Moisturizer and Lotion contains 90% of the water in their formula, while homemade whipped body butter contains 0% water. It’s more potent, pure and rich in texture. Dip the body butter using a wooden spoon or spatula rather than your fingers to prolong the life of the product. How can body butter be made to be less greasy? Although body butter is more emollient and has a thicker texture than lotion, it will absorb into the skin and its greasy sensation will be completely eliminated within a few minutes. Also, generally whipped body butter is considered less greasier than the OTC lotions but adding arrowroot powder to the recipe can help in alleviating the oily feel.
