Get instant results by applying the following top-notch natural cleaning tips to keep your skin hydrated and vibrant.

1. Oatmeal

Starting the list with the best natural cleanser for exfoliating and smoothing the skin, i.e. oatmeal. Oatmeal comprises compounds such as phenols, saponins, and vitamin E that nourish the skin and make it soft and smooth.

Saponins in oats are emollient and create a foamy texture when mixed with water. Being natural cleansers, saponins break down dirt accumulate on the skin. Oats gently exfoliate the skin; therefore, they are suitable for sensitive skin.

The best way to apply oats is to grind them to make a fine mixture to cover more surface area. For application, combine a minute amount of oatmeal with water or aloe vera gel and make a paste on your palm. Apply the mixture of oats and water on your face and massage in circles. Keep massaging for about a minute, then rinse it off with lukewarm water. You would notice a visible difference on your face, and the skin would feel smooth and firm.

2. Milk

A widely available product of the pantry, milk not only strengthens the bones but proves to be an effective natural cleanser as well. Milk contains proteins, fat, and lactic acid that aid in removing dead skin cells and moisturizing the skin.

For better results, opt for whole fat milk instead of skimmed milk. For application, take a small amount of milk on your palm and massage it gently on your face. You can also mix aloe vera gel if you have sensitive skin or egg yolk if you have dry skin.

Keep massaging for about a minute and then wash away with cold water.

3. Lemon

Lemons prove to be great cleansers as well as natural brighteners as they consist of antioxidants and vitamin C, which aids in brightening the dark spots or hyperpigmentation. Lemon is effective for those having oily skin as its acidic content cleanses the sebum and excess oil.

Vitamin C also helps in removing wrinkles and fine lines, making the skin appear youthful. For application, squeeze out lemon juice in a bowl and dip a cotton ball into it. Apply the lemon juice onto your face with the help of the cotton ball.

The lemon juice might sting a bit initially but later on leaves the skin looking fresh. If the stinging sensation increases, combine the juice with a little bit of water or yoghurt. Wash away the juice with cold water after a minute.

Sugar is probably the best natural exfoliator that strips away dead skin cells and deeply cleanses the facial skin. Grind the sugar to prevent abrasion. For application, combine two tablespoons of refined sugar with water or oil. Sugar can be combined with other liquids such as lemon juice and aloe vera gel for added benefit.

Massage the mixture on your face for about two minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water.

Why Cleansing is a Must?

Cleansing the skin aids in keeping skin free of dirt, grime, and oil that would otherwise irritate the skin and give birth to a multitude of skin issues. Avoiding cleaning can lead to clogged pores and dehydration of the skin, which results in itchiness, redness, and inflammation that would also make the skin appear dab and aged.

The itchiness would make you scratch your skin constantly, which would further aggravate the inflammation. Therefore cleansing regularly should be an active part of the skincare routine.

Benefits of cleansing naturally

Cleansing daily or at least weekly is beneficial for the skin as it:

1. Eliminating Buildup

The best benefit of cleansing is that it effectively removes buildup such as dirt, bacteria, dead skin cells, and other particles accumulated on the skin throughout the day. Cleansing makes the skin appear youthful and clean.

2. Hydrating the Skin

Regular cleansing helps moisturize and hydrate the skin as the natural ingredients aid in balancing the skin's pH and locking in moisture. As a result, skin looks plump and fresh.

3. Reducing Acne

Over time, the sebaceous glands present in the skin secrete sebum and oil that clog the pores when excreted excessively during summer. Cleansing helps in removing excess oil and unclogging the pores, which aid in eliminating acne.
